Type Delight: The work of Stefan Kunz
It is always a delight to see Stefan Kunz's inspiring lettering work. Not only is the craftsmanship something to enjoy, but the content of his work is always uplifting and motivational. And yes, he really inspires us to pick up the pens and get back to the sketchbooks again to better our hand at lettering and drawing. Based in Zurich, Stefan's work ranges from motivational quotes and Bible verses, art murals, art prints, his sketchbooks and the occasional object also gets donned with his masterwork. He documents his work on his Instagram page, and you can also check out his website here.

Photography: Vintage American signage
Browsing through Instagram (an App for iPhone users to take photos and share them with the
world) we discovered these wonderful photographs
of mid-1900s, Googie-inspired signage by Bill Rose. Under the pseudo-name
Recapturist, Bill documents these fantastic architectural monuments' combination
of colour, typography and geometric and sometimes space-themed shapes to build
up signage that, with the help of flashing lights, just popped out to lure in passing
travellers. Sadly, many of these signs are falling into disrepair, but with the
help of Recapturist, their existence and once-adored beauty will be preserved.
To see more of Bill's photographs or to purchase some of them as prints, go to Recapturist's website.

Typography: Photos by Christian Liljeberg
It
is no secret that we adore Instagram, an App for iPhone users to take photos
and share them with the world. We discovered Christian Liljeberg's photos on Instagram,
a Swedish typography enthusiast who takes photographs with his iPhone of the most
poetic instances of typography on signs, bicycles, pavements and fire hydrants
to name but a few.
His compositions are harmoniously crafted with the presence
of colour and texture playing as important role as the type itself. The photos portray a sweet nostalgia, and documents the changes the weather and human involvement bring.
The great news is that you don't have to admire his photographs only on Instagram or on the Instagram web viewer called Statigram, but you can also get your own canvas prints of Liljeberg's photographs!
To see more of his photos on Statigram go here, or to order your own canvas artwork from Instacanvas go here.
